INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Firefighters from the Indianapolis Fire Department rescued a 63-year-old woman after her house caught fire and she became trapped Saturday morning.
After calls were made to 911, reports came in of flames at the home at 220 S. Fenton Ave. Firefighters arrived to find the house on fire and were told by a 72-year-old man that his wife was still inside.
Crews searched the house and found the woman unconscious in the back of the home at 10:54 a.m. She was pulled onto the back deck, where firefighters performed CPR. She was taken to Eskenazi Hospital by Indianapolis EMS and remains in critical condition.
The man was also taken to the hospital for possible smoke inhalation.
